Still considering doing this and the BAS looks to be the best software solution.
Has anyone used the blanking kit from fleabay by a company called x8r?08 D3 TDV6 SE

I have used a few bits of theirs, but not the egr blanks.
They seem ok but yet to actually fit them so can't comment on reliability.

I have blanked mine off as one has packed up but had the MIL light on . the fix for the Mil ligh that i did i bought a cheap EGR valve and fitted it and also put a resistor in the wiring on the MAF to fool the temp sensor . Its cheaper that a patch
Not sure if you are still on this thread/forum Ovalandrover but was wondering what resitance the resistor was that you fitted. I can't believe no-one else on this thread asked (or maybe they did and I can't see it)
I have a Ford Territory with the same engine and want to do the same as you did to minimise the EGR function as much as possible.
Can you advise if you have any issues after the modification? Look forward to your reply, thanks.

When my EGR valve packed up the accumulated carbon in the Y inlet manifold caught on fire and burned holes in it.I got a second hand Y piece and cleaned it with oven cleaner then fitted blanking plates and removed the butterfly and then used a manfold cleaner with the engine running, best done outdoors well away from any habitation as it sent up a cloud of smoke and covers everything in black soot but it does clean it up.
The MIL light was still lighting up but a cheap EGR valve and a resistance fitted cured that.
Hello Ovalandrover
I would also like to know which resistor you used.
