I am going to do more checks, listening etc when I can start it! Flat battery so have an new one from Tayna coming.
I did look at the tensioner but hard to say at the moment, I noticed it did wobble / shake when it was running but didn't know if that was normal or do they stay perfect.

I'm starting to think tensioner but I don't have the squeak, just rattle. I'm checking some online videos to see what normal movement is..

All the auto tensioners move up and down quite a bit and is quite normal, side to side is a nono, thats why I mentioned above is shiny bit wider than the belt? whch would indicate tensioner internal bush has worn.

the up and down movement as its taking u the slack is quite normal as the tensioner is there to adjust whilst running, but they are only good for so long and the centre bearing can break down and if too far gone can eventually wear therough the pulley casting. As they wear they are going to wander around, and get quite noisy.
Simple change , just take the belt off again and its one bolt on the front of the tensioner, also if there is a problem with tension the alternator may not be getting dive correctly as the belt could be slipping without good tension

Finally got back to this.
The pulley doesn't look straight but is that normal?

In a word thats fubar!
You need tensioner, belt and top pulley which is also called a tensioner even though it is not!

Did you mean I also need another "top pulley"?

Yes that's it, but it would be no harm to check the upper one as well before you order. You will need to pop off the belt and spin the upper tensioner pulley which should be silent and smooth running.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

I have sometimes wondered just how many times them pulleys rotate before they are dead.
Change a lot of them on the trucks, some last 100k others 900k!
I have in the past just changed the tenisoner for rush jobs, but it never gets rid of the noise even if the belt looks good, so now it is always belt with any tesnioner or pulley.

Had it all apart today and the tensioner bearing seems OK but the spring housing had twisted off hence looked twisted.
Will also get idler as little rough.
I didn't have the fan tool but wasn't bad with it in.
