The car does not have to be remapped but the dealer will probably do it as a precaution if they suspect the failure of the EGR was down to a carbon (soot) build up within the EGR valve caused by a chip or remap Money talks.Sex sells.Mud sticks.Time flys. happens.People talk.Impressions last!
That would explain it then! Although my car has been TCd, I drive it gently so did not really notice the difference in performance until I towed our caravan on Good Friday. Fuel consumption which was around 21mpg post TC, had risen to around 18mpg and the car was noticeably slower to accelerate.
Incidentally, my dealers know that the car has been TCd and have made a note to that effect on their computer system that tells them not to remap unless necessary and to tell me if they have. Looks like that system has fallen at the first hurdle!
I feel a phone call to TC coming on!Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills
