You should ideally have a D4 loom, because off the connectors. But possible to convert it. Maybe you have to add a few wires too, not sure if the D3 have as many adjustment possibilities as the D4 ones.

Ok so a quick update.
I've taken my old electric cloth (6 movement) passenger seat to bits and used the loom from it to try and get the new drivers Discovery 4 seat going... Nothing... I then re fitted the loom and tried to get the known to be working passenger cloth seat to run from the main car loom under the drivers seat (plugged it into the main plug in post of this thread). Nothing happened! I then went back and looked for blown fuses and I dont have a fuse in slot 45 behind the glove box. This fuse seems to be for electric seats... could this be the issue?

Well that's a relief! I've just had the seat moving but only by applying direct power to each motor... This is getting frustrating

If you use a D3 passenger switch, it just need a 12+ and ground to operate.

wondered how much they differed between the D3/4 seats
Know when I retrofitted D3 electric seats in my D3 they were memory , ripped the memory module out and seat looms, got a non memory seat switch and started again by making new seat looms from other looms so I could reuse the motor connectors
Started with a multimeter to ensure positive and negative was at the Seats connector first and foremost , Then traced each wire one by one to complete the loom , both seats now have constant power
but alas the D4 looks totally different but assume it’s a similar concept of starting with the multimeter first and going on from there
As a side note this might be of interest one day to someone , alas is D3 Seats in a D3
