Electronic Handbrake

I have a 2012 D4 HSE. The other day I parked lifted the lever and the handbrake came on ok. When going to drive away I pushed the lever down and a warning came up saying Handbrake Fault. The handbrake only released when I drove off. Any idea folks?

You need to get the rear brakes stripped and cleaned to make sure all parts that should move do, then they will need adjusting up to the correct value.
