presume you've looked at the option of getting engine shipped to France and fitted locally ?
By the time I have paid the new non tariff fees I might as well go the other way. That said other than the main dealer, I don't know of a garage that would be able to fit it. Nor would I trust them.
Buy a new engine, hoist etc and fly DM in to fit it. New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)
Sold Volvo XC90 R-Design (known as Basil)
Sold - D4 HSE (Known as Gerty)
No longer the Old Buses original owner
231,000 miles and counting
05 S manual owned from March 2005
D4 Face lifted
Still original injectors and turbo
V8 Front brakes
BAS Remap, Allisport Intercooler and deCat
EGRs blanked
T-Max split charge
Hanibal Expeedition rack
Prospeed ladder
Duratrac tyres
IID BT
BAS FBH control
With today's French announcement that would mean putting DM up somewhere for about 2 weeks on top of his time to do the swap..

I would love to spend a couple of weeks with DM working on my steed, that would be an education of countless value. But I doubt that I could afford him for that long.An honorable defeat is better than a dishonorable victory.” ― Millard Fillmore

Thank you. I was hoping to get information on the company and anyone that had used them. Due diligence one might say, of the three I reached out to they have been by far the quickest to respond and most helpful at this moment in time.An honorable defeat is better than a dishonorable victory.” ― Millard Fillmore

That was what I too experienced when in contact with them. Quick response and a detailed reply with helpful info, complete opposite to a number of one line ( some just one word ) answers from a couple of others.2005 Disco3 HSE Auto 😁

No as said previously, I didn’t realise their location when asking for a quote, they were too far away, would have done though if closer. It was a fairly small job so the journey wasn’t worth it.
Hopefully I will never need to but if anything major comes up they will definitely be a first POC.2005 Disco3 HSE Auto 😁

So you did, sorry.
I have messaged and called both MMP and QP online and have not had anything back from them. I guess they are really busy right now and the times are difficult with the Covid restrictions. An honorable defeat is better than a dishonorable victory.” ― Millard Fillmore

For a new/recon lump, a factory crate engine is the only way to go. 2yr, unlimited mile warranty. Not the cheapest of options, but certainly gives peace of mind, both for the owner and myself
I guess that's MMP's reply ?

Had contact with DM.
Strange things have happened.
Our local mechanic who has retired said he would call around to listen to it. I didn't ask him as he isn't very experienced or enthusiastic with the LR brand and does not have fault reading software.
I haven't run it for a few days after being warned about running it.
Started it up and it was no where near as noisy, I glad I did a video it because he looked at me like a right pratt. As it is not making any noise at the moment I guess I run around in it until things change.
Maybe it was just keeping me on my toes.

It could be one or more of many minor things leading you to think it's more serious than it really is.
Of course there is the possibility there is something more sinister such as cam chains / tensioners, a weak oil pump, or crank bearings.
Can you post a video of what you consider "noisy" when next it happens?yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Best to check the injector values. It could be diesel knock
It could be the TC making a noise
It could be a lot of things.

Do these engines ever throw piston rings? From experience, it's a "the sky is falling in" noise, then goes eerily quiet..
