Engine coolant temp sensor

Hello - after research on here I self diagnosed an issue with the above, so thanks to all who contribute on here. I removed the engine cover and took a look, fluid weeping from the sensor so I guessed I was on the right track!
Ordered the new part from AF and went to swap it over today. They look very different but I assumed it was a new design for the part that would still fit - wrong! The electrical connection is the asme but not the sensor body.

AF are looking into it for to see if I need the housing (plastic T piece in the pipe work) too. When I get the result I'll post here just FYI.

In the meantime, anyone else come across this?

You can see from the photo how different they are, and the crack in the old one!!

Disregard! I now see an old post has been resurrected that answers this perfectly! Didn't find that using the search engine!

Looks like I'll need a right angle one

That exactly the problem I had when I ordered it from AF as well. To be fair to the guys at AF, they were brilliant about it, accepted it back and refunded it within hours so credit where it is due.
Its odd because everything else I have got from them has always been spot on.

I ordered a replacement right angled one from Rimmer Bros and fitted it in about 5 mins

Just a quick question, The angled coolant sensor (LR041442) shown on the left in the first post, is it a simple twist & pull affair to remove it from the coolant system?
