Engine, Diff, Gearbox Oil flushing near London |
|
Hello guys,
I've recently bought a used Disco 4 HSE 2010 with 58K miles, now almost 60K miles. In one of my previous posts I've mentioned a suspicion that the trader didn't do a proper service before selling me the car and I've been given a recommendation by many community members to do a proper service and perhaps look at the transmission and the gearbox flushing as well.
Could someone recommend me a trusted garage near London that could do the engine, diff and gearbox oil flushing. I've read that you need a proper equipment to actually get all the fluids out instead of just draining and refilling with the new oil, but not sure if this is indeed the case or who has that kind of equipment.
Also, how much would I be looking to spend on this?
Many thanks
Andrei

7 year service on d4 including belts is £1000. And you really do need to
Make sure the belts are done! All your gear oils changed for around £250 I think I paid; but that's not due until c65/70k haven't got service book to hand.

Hi Met,
I thought the belts are due for a change at 100K rather than at 7 years.

112,000 miles or 7 years, whichever comes first. As for costs, I've just had the said service, including belts, and rear discs and pads, plus MOT for c.£900 at a local LR independent using genuine parts etc.

Nigel, thanks.
My Disco is registered at the end of July 2010, so it is just over 6 years. I guess this could wait until the next service, or would you guys recommend getting it done together with the oil flushing ASAP to be on a safe side?
Cheers

Judging by the mileage (like mine which has only just covered 60,000 miles - Sept 2009), you should be fine until next year regarding the belts. However, there would be no harm in doing it early if you want to. Personally, I'd get the rest done, but leave the belts until the allotted time. Others might have different thoughts of course.
