Engine Fault Issue

I've been having a strange engine fault appear on my 2007 D3, that started a couple of months back but can't seem to locate the issue.

Drive along and suddenly an engine system fault light would appear as well as these other messages: hdc fault system unavailable, suspension lowered, transmission fault limited gears, park break fault.

The car would go into limp home mode and previously I could turn the engine off wait a few minutes and then start the car and it would work again. This would randomly appear, but now its happening more regularly.

I've replaced the battery and swapped fuses 25 and 30 for 15amp fuses and this appeared to have worked for a week, then it appeared again.
Took it to the garage and they suggested the fuel pumps could be the issue, so I got them to replace the lower fuel pump (at £600!) and it still didn't fix the problem.
I'm hesitant to replace the other pump as I still think its an electrical issue instead (especially as it would be another £700+ to get this replaced as well).

I'm getting the rear brake switch replaced tomorrow, as I've heard this can cause a lot of similar issues but I'm not holding out much hope.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I'm not mechanically minded and unfortunately this is our only car so need to get it up and working as quickly and cheaply as possible.

Thanks

Get yer tea leaves/fault codes read, without that you are just stabbing in the dark. And not all tea leaf/fault code readers are born equal, so not all garages will be able to see what the car thinks is going on. Thumbs Up

Oh and what the car thinks is going on may or may not be what is actually going on. Whistle Whistle

Second oh, you may have more than one fault. The HDC thing is typical of knackered battery, ESF could be a few other things. Thumbs Up

Welcome to the LR Christmas Tree Effect. Thumbs Up

Cheers DSL. The garage did run a diagnostic and they "think" it pointed to an issue with one of the fuel pumps, however I'm not convinced this is the issue (having spent £600 on the lower fuel pump at the garage, as well as a new battery) I'm heading back over to the local landy garage specialist again tomorrow, hopefully they still have a copy of the diagnostics.

Did you lose all power when the engine system failure message came up? I had that very intermittently for a period, but with no other faults and no error codes that related to it. It turned out to be fuel related and no problems since.

The car still has power, goes into limp home mode, so can slowly drive off the road, turn the engine off, wait and its fine again for a little while. Just tried again and managed about a mile before it happened, then repeated this about 3 more times trying to get back home.

If you can get the fault codes from your indy and post them on here I'm sure some knowledgeable peeps (this may or may not include Del whose knowledge is immense in certain areas Whistle ) will be able to give you a very good idea of the problem(s)
