Ok, so it is likely as bad as I feared. Big Cry They stripped the LH bank, nothing untoward.

Next step would be to start stripping more and digging deeper, body off, head off....just not worth the cost.

So, bill of ~£400 to investigate (that included replacing the leak pipes, as on putting it back together as they were knackered).

I am due to pick it up Monday. But have been given the option:
1) Risk a gingerly driven 2miles or so home, advertise as spares/repair with probable bearing failure.
2) The garage said I could just take the log book, and leave it with them - they'll consider the bill as paid, job done.

So, what would you do? Potential scrap value ~£475 - unless the recycling-centre reduce this because of the engine.
Not sure how much interest there's likely to be in anyone wanting this to sort themselves?

Any thoughts welcomed!

Cheers,

Strip and sell her off bit by bit. That’s the route to getting most cash out of her. Thumbs Up

Yeh, that would be my preferred option, but don't have the space to do so unfortunately. Sad
