you could try clearing all codes, this might give you a second to press the high switch quickly!

or maybe battery disconnect would default to high?

Thanks PETE K

Thanks PETE K.
I seem to have got her back into High Range even though the green mountain is flashing and very noisy, then every time I moved the suspension lowered! So re enabled got it up and pulled the fuse for suspension and EPB now driveable until I can sort the EPB.[/b]

Thanks to those that tried to help

Well got home, no way to relatch module screw heads far to rusty for accesss especially on my back, when I pulled off the discs the nearside shoes were adrift from their retaining clips and had been rubbing on the edge hence the excessive range and so jammed, not only that but the cable was frayed. Three days later the Octupus was out, god bless induction heaters, one day to refit new one and V8 brake upgrade all around. Still had the Special systems fault though eventually traced that to a previous bodge (done before my ownership)on transfer box small three pin socket the plug is missing and the three wires just have crimps onto pins which have come loose, new loom onway.
