Frozen screen and no destination |
|
My 2014 D4 has started to have a couple of tech issues and before I take it to a garage, I wondered if anyone knew how I might be able to resolve the issues.
1. On occasion the car says the smart key cannot be found. “It’s right there” I say, reminiscent of Eddie Izzard trying to get the printer to work. By opening and closing the driver’s door, this seems to have solved the issue for some reason.
2. The touchscreen either freezes or, more commonly, the sat nav will not let me enter a destination (by any means. E.g. Favourites, postcode, POI, etc). But the sat nav itself works. To get it to work I have to get out the car, lock it, wait a few moments and then it seems to work.
Any help very much appreciated.

Issue 2 is a regular fault on our D4, stealer unable to resolve
Generally I find touching the screen before it's initialising usually triggers it and then it needs a deep sleep cycle to reset.

Thanks. Might use an old fashioned map instead.
