I have had my D3 for 4 years and have recently noticed that when driving at cruising speed, the engine surges. The tacho will jump from say 1600rpm to 1800rpm and particularly when I was driving on sand using the sand setting, it really was quite concerning.
Any one had the same problem?

Maybe a gearbox oil may need a change. Search for double flush. Roel
