Engine System Fault after a 10 day's not running
Hi all,
Just back from a short holiday.
This morning the misses started the D3, crossing our fingers for not having a dead battery, as it drained a couple of times already.
Yes, she started, but then the "Engine system fault" came up.
Nothing else.
According to the misses the D3 still drives normal.
I'll take it for a test drive later on.
What could this be?
EGR?
What can I do to have a better diagnose myself befor I go to the dealer?

Failed EGR does def not drive normally - no power until Turbo kicks in
I flattened my battery once - got some very weird messages / lights / bongs
No doubt somebody with more knowledge will be along shortly

It's likely to just be low voltage issues. Does it go away if you stop, shut her up (the car, not the mrs) and then re-start again after a couple of minutes?
I occassionally get errors if I try just putting the key straight in & starting without waiting for it to go through it's POST Bodsys Brake Bible

Just did a test drive.
It could be me, but I think the turbo is gone.
Normaly when I drive it I feel the turbo kick in at a little more than 2000rpm, now I don't feel a thing.
Pedal to the metal and slow acceleration.
Or could it be because my wife is a more relax driver so the car became laizy?
when you say slow acceleration - do you mean it remains slow after 2,000 revs and continues to acclerate and build revs at the same, very slow pace ?
Or is it slow to "pick up" at 2,000 revs and below but then at about 2,500 it does accelerate faster ?
If the second, then it could be EGR's...?
If the first, are you getting above 50 km/h ? If not, then you are in "limp-home" mode. The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeksnearly 4 weeksover 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."

Hi I have been told by LR dealer that this sort of fail code can occur when the battery get to a lower state and it is current draw but does clear its self

I had a battery replaced, didn't use my D3 for a few days, started it up, got the dreaded message, lack of power, black smoke under acceleration, power went down to walking speed once, switched off then back on and all was normal.
Used it the next day, laden with 4 chaps, pulled up a steep hill no problem.
Following day power delivery issues again.
It was the Turbo!!I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.
