Could the EPB cause this?

I’ve been trying to track down what I thought was a rotational sound that increased with acceleration. Changed front wheel bearings but it never quite resolved it. Also put 4 new tyres on but same result. Then I got stuck twice on hills as EPB would not release and made the usual screaming noise and it happened a third time yesterday. There is also a distinct shudder at around 50mph when slowly accelerating and sometimes a shudder when braking from speed.
Question is - could the EPB be the cause of these symptoms as I desperately need to get this sorted?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

It could be the shoes have detached, but sounds more like the prop centre bearing has given up.

Thanks for reply. Sounds expensive? Would the Centre bearing also give that rotational noise that sounds like a wheel bearing going?

I would say your epb shoes are sticking and seizing up on the pivot lever and not coming off fully, this would give you your symptoms .
They need a full strip and clean.

Flack Thumbs Up

I've got the same problem the only way to discribe it is like some thing hiting a metal plate, been underneath and can't find anything obvious no play on the bearings or driveshaft uj's. I'm in the middle of moving house so leaving further investigation till i've moved

Many thanks Flack. Same sort of answer as a mutual friend of ours gave but, unfortunately, he cannot help me at present.
