EPB Failure - Success Story!!!

Well, all thanks to Bodsy's Brake Bible I can say that I have successfully dodged a bullet with the well known screeching EPB actuator. Last Tuesday I activated the Handbrake and was met with a christmas tree of flashing light on my dash and the unmistakable sound of someone stepping on a cat....... this was followed by an EPB failure message and the EPB was locked SOLID.

Now considering I have only had my baby for two weeks this was rather disheartening to say the least. Here in South Africa I was told by Land-rover that it was done for and quoted R10,000 for replacement. (GBP1,000)

Thanks to this forum I knew that this is a common problem with the disco, but I hadn't searched long enough to see if there were any solutions to the problem. After much searching I found Bodsy's Brake Bible and decided to give it a go on the weekend...........

Well, it turns out I got lazy and carted the Disco and Bodsy's brake bible to our local Independant Landy specialist, and after a good clean out and adjustment she's back to normal, not even a whisper, and it would appear the cat has been given a break. Smile

THANKS TO BODSY, I SAVED R10,000 (Bill was only R250 (+/- GBP25.00) for clean & adjust)

PLEASE GET YOUR EPB ADJUSTED AT EVERY SERVICE (I WILL ACTUALLY BE DOING THIS IN BETWEEN SERVICES TO BE SAFE AS WELL)

Great news!

Now as I think i've advised before, the savings you've made, should be hi-lighted to the finance controller and placed into a D3 Toys fund Mr. Green Mr. Green

At least you know your local dealer can do it Laughing Thumbs Up

Minister of Finance & Home Affairs

The Minister has already been told that a second set of 17" rims with Knobblies (Mud Terrain) would be in order....

Sadly not on the horizon, apparently a family holiday would be a better way to spend the savings..... SURPRISE..... Rolling Eyes

Yes you're quite right there Rolling with laughter
