EPB issue on Auto

So on my TDV6 Auto the auto release error is coming up, I had the internals of the rear hubs out and cleaned etc but what causes just that? Cables? I’ve read until I’m tired of it about the easy fix for this on a manual, but so far found nothing relating to auto.
