EPB Problems

So I damaged my parking brake on the left side (passenger side in USA). I replaced the shoes which isn't the easiest thing to do. The other day I tied to apply the parking brake and I got the squealing cat or stuck pig sound from the EPB module. So I investigated the cause. My parking brake cable wasn't properly fitted, when the brake was applied it drew the cable inside the EPB module. Is there a way to reverse the cable so I can reattach?

Read that and opened the EPB module yesterday. Unsure how to rotate the brass rod and didn't want to cause further damage. Not much room in the channel that the brass rod sits in to grip. Any ideas?

Read Disco_Mikey's instructions to unjam my EPB. I used a hammer and chisel to get the brass rod turning. Once it was lose it unthreaded with ease. Parking brake system is working like it should!
