EV and pollution

We have all seen the discussions about how non polluting EV are, the cartoons showing an EV plugged into a coal fired power station or the photographs of an EV being recharged from a diesel/petrol generator

I tend to discuss the broader picture.

The eco warriors want the UK to be carbon neutral by 2025/30/40 etc but since the UK emits 1% of the worlds output with China, India and USA emitting 50%. Yes there is the lead by example argument.

Now for the proponents of the environmentally friendly (hmmm maybe/not) EV I suggest a read of this

The western more developed world is very good at exporting their own pollution/recycling problems to less developed countries such as plastic waste including soiled nappies to the Philippines, electrical items to west Africa for recycling (burning off pvc from copper wire in open fires) to replacing public transport with a cleaner bus then shipping the 'dirty' buses to a less developed country.

True about world population increasing.

However I am not sure how the eco warriors would respond to culling of homo sapiens.

There is no doubt that the world is over populated by homo sapiens. Thumbs Up

The problem is that no politician will dare to mention this, let alone suggest a solution.

Not acceptable.

What about selective culling of homo sapiens?

In which case what should be the selection criteria?

More seriously why not tax children above a particular number. Maybe child allowance for number 1, number 2 neutral, 3+ taxed at an increasing rate per child?
