I also can't believe how much she actually paid for that house, the estate agent should be ashamed for charging that much!

Or it’s a cunning ploy for her to set up a crowdfunding page so peeps can buy her a nice mansion somewhere, as she (in her mind) deserves it without working. And there prob are enough stupid peeps out there for that to work. It could be sheer genius at work!! Shocked Shocked

This small estate of about 10 houses was built on the land of what was a garage/van sales lot. I imagine that the garage owner did a quick calculation of ten houses at £375k (at least one still on sale for that price), less building costs probably leaves best part of a couple of mill' profit. What's known as a 'no brainer' I expect even if they just sold off the land to a developer.....

To say they 'didn't know' about the road is complete and utter Censored as you can only enter the 'estate' from said dual carriageway (and I'd imagine some hairy moments as people turning left into the houses suddenly brake in front of cars doing a legal 70mph (often faster as cars do a grand-prix start away from the lights 5-600 yards prior to the houses and accelerate hard up the 'hill').

Lorries will be just about up to speed by the time they reach the houses and accelerating and those on the opposite carriageway likely high revs crawling up the 'hill' that side.....

Used to drive past these houses as they were being built and wondered how/why anybody would buy a house there but 'right price' will see anything sell but I wouldn't say these were particularly cheap for the area TBH

The road can be 'quiet' as in not much traffic at times (maybe on a Sunday....) but any traffic on there will be quite noisy and in the week it is a major artery road for lorries/traffic between the M6, M42 and M6 toll and is often grid-locked too in peak hours.

No doubt they will complain even more when the new high speed rail line goes live a few hundred yards behind them...... Rolling Eyes

Another example of "what did she expect?". Shop owners citing Magna Carta in order to ignore Covid restrictions. This one now facing large fines and a day in court.

5 minutes' research would have shown her that Art. 61 of Magna Carta no longer applies. And even if it did, she isn't one of the 25 elected barons to whom it applies.

Only 4 articles of the original still apply. None of them allow us to pick and choose which laws apply to us.

"When you fire that first shot, no matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die! You don't know who's children are going to scream and burn. How many hearts will be broken. How many lives shattered. How much blood will spill, until everybody does what they were always going to have to do from the very beginning: SIT DOWN AND TALK!"
