Does anyone know of any examples of a Disco 3 being used for serious overland travel? (By serious, I mean a situation where vehicle failure could lead to personal safety being seriously compromised), e.g. Trans-Africa, london to Cape Town, etc.

I'm interested in how the vehicle was modified, and how it performed en route.
