I think the golf club at the back of the circuit takes a certain amount of tourers. May be a bit late to get anywhere in the area now though!

Litchlake camp site http://www.silverstone-camping.co.uk/
Can be noisy but as close as you'll get other than in the circuit. No hook up but gens allowed Thumbs Up

Whittlebury Park is my choice http://www.whittlebury.com/
Book early and you'll get hook ups you may have left it a little late now from experience. Gens also allowed.
Expensive compared to the rest but a much nicer place to be. Two bars and two restaurants, with the hotel there if your up early you'll get those autographs too, not many of the top guns stay there but good enough.
About a 10min walk though fields to the track.
Thumbs Up
Enjoy

P.s I havent ever used a genny with the tinshed before have you any idea if a 900 watt genny with be ok and also with a full bottle of gas last the week with fringe freezer etc all running.

Curly, I managed on 900watt gen, but really depends on what you wish to run, a modern caravan will run on 12V, and Gas, if your fridge runs on gas then you should be ok, I doubt you'll need a telly as there is so much to do. Althought 12v tv's are available.
Take a gen if you wish or enjoy 12v living Thumbs Up

Thanks for your comments guys, Im just wondering if this little gem will keep my battery topped up. Is this a case of just connect it to the battery and away you go. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10A-solar-panel-...011wt_1037
