FS / Famous metal polish, ideal for alloy wheels & other
Dear all,
After a tremendously stressful incident I find myself unable to continue using a tube of metal polish which is ideal for alloys and other uses. In the spirit of charity I would like to offer for auction a half used tube of the polish, see picture attached (it is the tube on the left, blue coloured).
I will accept bids in 20p increments with ALL money going to Help for Heroes, I will pay the postage to the winner. The auction will end at 9pm on Sunday the 7th March 2010 and the highest bidder nearest the forum time stamp will win
So please dig deep, this is a great cause and will help me with my rehabilitation.

£5 I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

£5.80, I haven't laughed as much since I watched my wedding video backwards...............especially the bit where the Mrs fooks off in the car Welcome to the Global Warming Corner.
Is the bid for the red tube marked tomato puree...or the white one marked garlic puree...or the blue one with red boxes on it that is clearly marked "metal polish superfine"...?
I can appreaciate how easy it must be to get those three mixed up...
However for the auction...(I won't be bidding though. I have a tube of mayonnaise at home that brings the shine on the alloys up a treat...)The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeksnearly 4 weeksover 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."

A very kind forum member who will remain anonymous posted some to me, I opened the packet and was looking at it, I then went and tried some on the wheels and it worked wonders, I went back into the kitchen and put it on the work surface, at the same time I was making a stew in a slow cooker, I had already used a little garlic puree using up an old tube, I had a new tube in the fridge but for some unknown reason I tasted the stew and thought, ummm... perhaps a little more garlic? so I opened the tube, made a lovely figure of 8 squirting it, mixed it up and had a couple of desert spoonfulls testing it, it tasted very strange, a taste I had no tasted before! at that point the ammonia from the heat of the stew rose up and hit me hard in the nostrels, I thought that's funny and had another taste, then to my HOROR I realise my mistake I could not get the stew out of my throat, the room was filling with ammonia and I thought Oh ! There was no detail on the tube re ingredients so I went straight to the Doctor, they were very concerned and I ended up in an ambulance and rushed to A&E due to the threat of my throat closing up and the acid eating my throat and stomach, I will not be going into detail about what happened at hospital as I am still in trauma I will NEVER moan about an airport scanner again, when I have experienced at first hand other ways of checking you
I am very careful with kitchen cupboards and have child locks on them, this was a most idiotic and stupid incident, and if I as a fully functional intelligent individual can make the mistake, God help the old and infirm and other less able people around, new spectacles have been ordered!
Nice to be back though sorry for not updating you but the nurse caught me on my ipod while waiting to die and it was confiscated
I HOPE THIS IS A LESSON TO ALL
