Fan wiring can anyone help?

Hi all , Hope someone can help out with the wiring to my fan,I’ve recently had the restricted performance issue , had the car plugged in the other day, Along with a sensor needed I found the wiring connection to the plug (at the top right of the fan as you look in under the bonnet), had been ripped out, I believe it’s the wiring that boosts the fan from start up and when it’s needed is what I can gather, It looks like it’s been left off after maintenance and got caught in the fan and ripped off the connector, Question is can I buy the connector and what wire goes in where if I can get one ? Would Anyone have a part number please?

The engine bay connector is available to repair with terminals and connector itself

The fan side of the connector is not available separately, it only comes attached to a replacement fan

I now have the 5 wires, One was ripped off lower down the casing, Just confused as to which will go where in the connector, 3 are the same colour and 2 different colours , Would it cause any problem if I get them the wrong way round and just not work ? Or just trial and error till it works? Common sense is telling me the 3 same would go in the middle and one each on either end, Whistle

Replacement connector is YPC800240 but comes from LR as a connector ONLY, no terminals or seals included.

It's a Delphi/Aptiv GT150 series connector, but I can't source a genuine connector any cheaper than LR sell at - only nasty clone connectors/kits. So order the proper connector from LR.

The other parts you then need are these, available in small quantities from 3waycomponents:

Terminals: https://www.3waycomponents.co.uk/product/1...e-terminal
Seals: https://www.3waycomponents.co.uk/product/1...wire-seal/

Here's the wiring for C2270:

As you can see there are actually only 2 wires the same - Black with a brown stripe [BN] on the left hand side.

These are joined at the SJ630 joint and are ultimately fed from fuse 6E. These wires go to pins A and E, either way around.

The third similar coloured wire is actually brown with a black stripe [NB] and it is slightly smaller diameter, this goes from the ECU to pin C and cannot be switched with the wires above.

So check the wire colours carefully!

Otherwise, orange to D and plain black to pin B.

Martin 10/10: there is not another forum of any sort I know of where you can obtain such information so quickly Bow down

It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Agreed, Absolute star Thumbs Up , Where would we be without this site and all it offers for these complex vehicles ? The help and information is second to none, I’m pretty handy and don’t mind tinkering, I also use a decent mechanic near me but think we would of both been scratching our heads on this one , Like for like is ok when you can see what goes where but in this situation it’s not the case so was really lost , Many thanks again Bow down

Totally agree with that. And we get to learn about an extremely useful auto electrics supplier site too.
Thumbs Up

Just waiting for the parts to sort this now, Looking at the 3 similar wires it doesn’t look there is any difference between them, 2 at Black with brown stripe and 1 brown with black stripe, On closer inspection Can’t see any differences in diameter really , Any other way of telling the difference ? Will give them a good clean and see if I can determine the difference .

Turn the vehicle off.

Strip a little (off the 3 wires). Laughing

With a multimeter on continuity or ohms/resistance, measure pairs of those wires until you find the ones shorted (or zero ohms).

The shorted pair are the black/brown pair which go to A and E.

The difference is the wire colours... Wink

Wires in locations A+E can go in either, as they both join into each other further in the loom

Other wires are all different colours and can be identified in Martins diagram above Thumbs Up

After much searching and ringing round dealers and even resorting to breakers I’m Struggling to get this connector, None in stock at dealer’s, I’ve put the Adelphi part number in only to find it’s a bit of a minefield of choice and not sure if it’s the right one. Would anyone know of anywhere I can purchase the exact one even if not genuine ? I’ve took some photos of the accepting plug and was going to email it to a couple of automotive connector sellers on line in the hope they can pin point the correct connector , Any help appreciated Big Cry
