how far do you drive to your dealer or LR service point?
I live in a country where (the more wealthy) people that fall in love with a car after looking in magazines, do want it at every cost (ps the q7 was the worst example):
- no matter what it costs (a well equiped RRS is more expensive here than a normal house)
- no matter what inconvenience: I have a horrible dealer (didn't know that before the first service) in 1 hour driving and the next dealer in 2 hours driving. Huge parts of this country are without dealership nearby. And the importer probably is happy enough with this.
I counted on a new dealership nearby (40minutes) but this seems to be just a dream.
In the Uk, you are spoiled: LR training, LR everywhere, spare parts and accessories everywhere...
But what about the rest of you? How far do you travel to get to the LR service?
and please, do not tell me I should have bought a skoda....

About 270 miles - A round trip of over 500 miles
There are, of course, LR dealers who are closer (I think I pass about 5 or 6 en-route), but that's the price you pay for finding a GOOD delaer rather than just a stealer

JMC, which dealer do you use, so far I have used Town & County in Aberdeen, but this is for warrantee work, don’t know the cost of servicing there, who are the dealerships of choice in our neck of the woods?

Don't come to Oz. The dealer I purchased the D3 from and the one I use for servicing is about 730 kms one way (Brisbane), I really have to plan the visit to ensure all issues are covered. I generally ensure I have business reasons to visit Brisbane. There is a closer dealer 340 kms one way but I don't have any other reasons to visit that town.06 TDV6 SE with many LR and after-market extras. Used only on weekends and trips out west.
