I did a 300 mile trip to the west coast of Wales last week and kept at 70mph all the way. (First long run) I was happy with how the car handled and the ride was so smooth. On the way back I kept at 70 until halfway and then put it up to 80. This seems to be more comfortable and I didn't feel restrained as I did at 70. Must just be the rebel in me!

depends on my mood at the time, if SWMBO 'needs' me home 'now' or whatever the road conditions allow.

I have made a return trip to Kent this weekend covering over 350 miles, most of which was on the motorway. I was doing between 70 and 80 mainly using the cruise control at around 75. This was comfortable and took no longer than it did when I had my BMW 320d, when I felt the need to go faster. In fact in all the motorway driving I do, and I use my D3 for work, I find doing between 70 and 80 I get to my destination in no more time than before.

You have to go OVER 100mph for the auto lowering!
Once lowered, it remains low untill a certain low speed has been reached.

At home here, always stick to the limit (120KMPH - 75MPH) - too many evil guys with laser guns hiding behind bushes just waiting to give me my first 2 points! In the UK, usually stick to 70-75 if not in a hurry, 85 - 90 if in a rush, and even at that speed when in the outer lane overtaking things in the middle lane, tailgaters still latch onto the back of my D3!IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver

A polish generally removes a fine layer of the topcoat, this leaves virgin paintwork and a gleaming finish. If you then applied a wax to this finish then it may be best left until you repolish. If the virgin paint is left try the Autoglym. It just means you don't have to polish again for a good couple of years or more.
aren't you fishing in the wrong pond?

I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?
