Steering wheel volume control gone haywire

Anyone tell me what this fault means on my D4?

Clear it, it comes back. I have 3 other faults that I know about, front camera related and accessory socket relay open circuit because I have made them permanently live.

Ok they do stop working every now and then, but not done it for quite a while. Maybe the clock spring is getting tired.

I have the same fault code and have a intermittent fault with volume, mode.and forward/back switch on steering wheel. Car is in Land Rover as we speak for something els but iv pointed out the fault and even done printout of fault for them. Hopefully they will rectify it, it was in Land Rover previously and I mentioned the intermittent fault but they said they couldn't replicate the fault. (Hence the reason for providing printout of code stored this time) I will keep you posted Thumbs Up

I also have U0140-08 2C. Lost comms with body control module, I'm hoping that has something to do with other fault.

UPDATE... but off no help sorry. Got car back yesterday but before it was delivered back I received a call, sorry sir the fault on the switch wasn't apparent and the car will have fault codes somtimes that don't mean anything it may just be (e.g.) voltage drop etc, guess I'll just wait until I get a bong with message or switch stop working completely. (To be fair looking at the big picture a intermittent switch isn't the worst problem to have) Confused

Ok time to resurrect this. Almost completely lost use of volume/mode/channel change switch. It works very occasionally, but more often than not if I try to change volume, it either changes channel or switches to another mode instead. Error code is present all the time now.

This is the top multi function switch on the left side of the steering wheel. Everything else that is switched or controlled from the steering wheel, like cruise control, phone, menus, heated steering wheel etc. seems to be ok.

Is it likely to be a switch that’s broken, or the clock spring?

If it’s the switch, is it available as a single unit, or do I have to get the whole switch panel? Mine has the gloss black steering wheel finishers, are these part of the switch or will I be able to fit a generic switch pack?

I had the same; it was covered under the warranty I bought, thankfully. Turned out to be a faulty switch.

And as LR had apparently updated the switch, the dealer also replaced the one on the right side of the wheel at the same time.
