Fault code P2288 ?(NOW FIXED)

Hi All

Fault code p2288 -(unknown )under TDV6 ECU

I have a fault with what i can only dicribe as a misfire on tick over until now the car has not displayed any fault codes But at the weekend straight after it stalled I found p2288 which I believe to be with fuel pressure

I would also like to add the car was ok prior to land rover servicing it

The fault seems to be getting more evident.

whilst reversing sometimes it will stall if the throttle is pushed a released straight away

If you let the car roll in drive without using the throttle the car will very lightly for want of a better word jump, pulse making the misfire more noticeable

I've read it may be fuel filter , fuel pump , just wondered if any one has had the same issue and managed to resolve it.
Also read that even changing the fuel filter has caused this code

I've had a new inter cooler hose .
I was told that all fuel filters and air filter got changed on service in November
1 year old EGRs
Cleaned map sensor againslats done 1 year ago it was dirty but not blocked
Air flow sensor looks ok

Many thanks
Chris

Injector control pressure too high. Seen this fault a few times, and net result every time has been a new HPFP

I had this exact fault and symptoms... Which progressively got worse until it would stall when revved slightly at standstill. Turned out to be Fuel Filter, tens minutes to fit and OE ones are almost as cheap as after market....

Interestingly, it started happening about six weeks after bring serviced and having the filters changed, unknown to me at the time, for non OE ones

Hi thank you all for your replies

I'm hoping it's just a filter as that seems to be the cheapest fix

And I have read others have had same issues after service

Mine was done by land rover so I would hope they used genuine parts.

Chris

Had same issue with aftermarket FF just so happened it occurred while in the stealers for something else as it was being tested
They could see the fuel issue on there test software but also diagnosed HPFP but based on previous reads here I pushed for a new filter and fortunately it worked

How many on here have had aftermarket FF issues I for one won't use them ever again

Got the same fault code, P2288-00( 68 )
Fitted a new fuel filter from AF because I've been having a sudden loss of power within 2 mins of starting from cold, comes with loss of special programs, also have the slight misfire as reported by Chris in the first post. Problem hasn't gone away after replacing the filter.
I'll give it a run and see if that helps as it was kind of holding back with weaker throttle response before the filter change. Seemed a touch more smokey under hard acceleration too but not had chance to really test it yet but had the same fault happen whilst driving away from the garage that did the filter change.

Please don't tell me it's a new HPFP. Big Cry

From your PM and fault codes, it does sound very much like HPFP...
