Faultmate rear locking diff.motor recalibration |
|
I just discovered, that I will need a new motor for a rear electronic locking differential. It is making a screeching noise at start up and shot off.Although, it is not a difficult job to replace it , this replacement would require a new motor recalibration.
Is this procedure possible with a Faultmate Msv2 or not likely?
Is recalibration, in this case, means the same as data or software configuration with existing ECU?I know someone did a complete mew diff installation from open to locking, on this board, so I was wondering if this operation is possible or not . All i can see on VE is self test on rear differential...
Please help me out as i am on the fence with thinking, that it might be a dealer only fix.I should not drive in current condition,God knows what happens if diff motor gives up(?).

Quick call to the dealers and new locking solenoid( motor) is $900 plus 3 hours labor, but they offer a rebuild one now for a small as 630 dollars .Is new motor really needs a recalibration ?It prices on this side of pond as high as ours?I wonder what TLO has to say aboout that...
