FBH fuel pipe UPDATE
whilst replacing my front struts i also removed the plastic inner wheel arches
happen to notice this leak, took a little while to trace what is was feeding
on further inspection found it was the fuel supply to the FBH
UPDATE
Fitting is NOT 4mm , it is 5mm , have reordered some more couplings and will advise here if it fits ok
as u look at the fitting and pipes, the bottom pipe is metal, top one is plastic
coupling has a cover on each end to protect it from ingress of dirt etc,
however the bottom pipe has a stop collar so u can’t pull the bottom cover back, in order u can push the quick release part of the fitting in to release the pipe , hope that makes sense
have to either cut the pipe with a mini tube cutter or break the small cover off in order u gain access to the pushfit collar
wished to update this post so others didn’t cut the pipe and find out the size of the coupling was wrong
will later put some pictures up to make more sense

Dunno.
I think that's a factory join.

Std way to join the 4mm od pipe on trucks is to use a piece of rubber hose with 4mm id and two small clips, only important bit it to make sure the ends of the pipe touch each other so theres no where for air pockets to form.
If you look at the fbh itself you will see how the 4mm nylon pipe is joined to the fbh with a piece of rubber hose plus of course the lift pump itself
Correct rubber pipe size is 3.5mm id and you also need the proepr clipe as std jubilee style clipe are to chunky
Well worth checking the rubber pipe on your fbh as they split with age, right next to the exhaust!

many thks for the great tip and picture , have actually just ordered a brass pushfit coupling
didn’t notice it as the diesel had just run onto the engines sump cover and fitting is hidden behind the wheel arch liner
did notice on occasion the FBH had cut out, don’t know if it could have sucked air into the system or just a coincidence ???
whilst it’s all accessible will give it another once over for any wear and tear
thks again
