FBH remote for advice

Hey guys

I just need some hand holding here Shocked being a newbie Rolling Eyes

So, my new HSE coming next week from my understanding has non remote timed climate with FBH as standard.
Presumably I set the time and it will come on and run for 30mins if below a certain temprature and clear screeens and aid engine warm up....etc

The remote just means you press the button and it will fire up there and then ? or am i missing something ?

If so whats the best way to get the remote part done ?

Ive done some searches but i think im confusing myself Rolling Eyes

cheers for any advice

og

you need to fit a reciever / antenna and keyfob ( then enable it )

but then its just a case of pressing the fob for a warm car Thumbs Up

Hi there

Nearest to you is Geoff to do the remote and he is brilliant. I had an issue after it was done and Geoff "stayed with it" until all was well.

The new cars only preheat for 20 mins (non remote or remote), NOT for 30. Something to do with battery drainage.

For remote, press the tit 20 mins before you get in car and hey presto! You can be up to 1000metres away.

Well worth the money Thumbs Up

Hi

Geoff is down in Kent.

He will supply all the parts you need and takes about an hour.

I'm surprised he hasn't picked up your posts.

Am I allowed to give out his mobile number? If so, it's <EDIT> Thumbs Up

Paul

thanks Paul Thumbs Up

ment to ask, as not got the car or handbooks etc yet, does the
heater kick in only if its below a certain temp ? and you have the timer set or push the remote button ?
Is it just inactive untill such time as you set the timer or press the remote button ?
When it is running and you start the car i presume it just shuts off ?

sorry for silly questions but just want to make sure im right in what im thinking Rolling Eyes Laughing

cheers

IIRC if the temp is below 15, heater switches on otherwise the car just vents. As you said, shuts off as soon as you start the car. Brilliant option, defrosting the car in all this snow has been easy - just press the remote. Heated steering wheel is also a good option too.

Oops, sorry about that, I did wonder if it would be ok....sorry for any embarrassment caused to anyone Embarassed

How do I delete the post?

Woody is correct about the remote. The only other thing I would add is that the Climate Control central button does NOT have to be set on Auto for it to work. Or at least the remote works in my car without Auto on. I usually set the temp at 23 degrees. It usually takes a few seconds to fire up once the remote is pressed, but it is well worth having, especially when you look out the window on an unexpected freezing morning and then just press the button Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

As standard the HSE will have programable Park Heating. You can schedule this to come on twice each day, and at a different time for each day of the week, or you can get in the car and press buttons to request immediate park heating and it runs for 20 minutes.
The remote option also gives immediate 20 minutes of park heating but saves having to go out to the car to switch it on manually. Well worth it IMHO.

All of this depends on your battery being fairly well charged, but that's a story for another day Wink

The heater will come on anyway when you start the car to help get the engine warmed up and will stay on till this is achieved - it doesn't turn off when you start the car.
