Ok I've been to look at this for John and can confirm it won't pair,we tried a complete new set up with no joy,So come away to investigate a bit more knowing it's not a hardware issue, and as the Rugby was to shocking to watch tonight found myself looking at a wiring diagram not hard as its only 3 wires but this is what I found on Johns car which is different to the wiring diagram
On the vehicle plug that goes into the timed remote receiver on Johns car
Pin 1 purple/brown zero volts
Pin 2 red 12volts
Pin 6 earth
Wiring dia
Pin1 purple/brown 12v
Pin2 red signal
Pin6 Earth
So rigged up timed remote on my table, live and Earth and I should be able to pair remote,so rigged it up as johns car was ie pin 2 to live pin 6 earth and I can't pair remote so swap pin 2 to pin 1 as in the wiring diagram hey presto! I paired 2 remotes first time so I need to go back and check continuity between fbh red wire to the remote plug in the boot as there is a connector In between somewhere and I'm wondering if it's been incorrectly assembled,so in the meantime if someone has there D4 apart could you confirm that you have power to the purple and brown wire and not the red please or if someone can confirm of the top of there head that would be great,I know that's what the wiring dia shows but just want it confirmed Wanted D4s non runners pm for competitive price.

Hi Woody,
On my car I have

Red - 11.97v
Black - Ground.
That was with the connector disconnected from the receiver.
Let me know if there is any other check I can do to help.

Thanks HM that's excellent
So looks like I'm looking for a fault in the purple & brown from fuse 2 in the eng fuse box back to the receiver.
Thanks again for your help much appreciated Wanted D4s non runners pm for competitive price.

Update/Repaired
Ok a little update on this,so been back to sort this issue of not being able to pair the timed climate remote
Drawing
The purple/brown wire at the receiver,as you can see is feed by battery voltage from fuse 2 in the eng bay,the only join between fuse 2 and the receiver plug is a connector about 1 meter from the fuse box, trying to find this connector was a challenge but I finally found it,so for others that may need to find connector C2410R/C2409 it's behind the CJB near the bottom, and yes a bitch to get to and visible by mirror or a pea sized head,I managed to Unclip the connector from its mounting point but the looms so tight you can't move it much but it was enough for me to find and repair the fault.
And this is what I found.
So a bit of a random fault but may help someone out one day
And a big thanks to hughMartin for checking his voltages for me as I didn't have a drawing at the time great help cheers mate Wanted D4s non runners pm for competitive price.
