Feeling totaly fed up now rear V8 carriers problem
Started a full refurb of the rear suspension after doing the front last year, I decided to finish the V8 brake upgrade whilst I was doing this as I had mistakenly bought rear V8 carriers when I was doing the front (no idea how)
Anyway apart from two bolts that wouldn’t budge all was going well until I tried to fit the rear brake Carter’s and you guessed it all boxed as V8 parts but exactly the same as the original ones another set of incorrect boxed carriers (I now know of the problems they have been having) so as the car has been off the road for two days and I need to get back to work and it was 4.30 pm my only option to get any replacements was to call my local Land Rover parts department in Leicester.
I must make this clear the chap who answered my call went above and beyond taking nearly 30 mins to source the last set of carriers he even measured the distance from the bolt hole in the sliders to the carrier bolts and they were further away than the ones I had, great I thought so I paid for them, only problem I had no car but my godson in a apprentice there and he brought them home, so I go to fit this morning and the bolt holes are the correct distance from the sliders but too bloody close together so I’m back to square one and property fed up, anyone in Leicester who has the correct carriers and is happy to let me use to get back on the road will be handsomely rewarded.
The top is obviously the originals, the middle the ones sold as V8 the bottom the ones from landrover all boxed with SXP500014

I first encountered this problem back in November 2013 so it's encouraging to see that JLR have sorted out their reboxing monkeys to put the correct TRW parts in the correct JLR box.

Speak to AF - apparently there was a problem with OEM rear V8 carriers that JLR had specc'd incorrectly if I remember rightly.
AF were the first people to sort out AFAIK and looked after me well sourcing the right ones ASAP.
I contacted AF correct parts next day all sorted and happy bowRange Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8 what a car

Parts Geek is still selling the incorrectly boxed parts. Just got three in a row and they WILL NOT pay the return shipping! They want my VIN off the truck. LOL They don't get it. their computer gonna tell them it correct. They can't comprehend it's the wrong part in the box
