Thanks for the reminder; the aftermarket is all over the Disco 1-4 and the earlier FFRR's but accessories for the L405 and all other modern Land Rovers seem to be very limited. 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: FL2 as a second car
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!

I agree with DrF! Having driven both across a number of scenarios (long motorway hauls, A+B roads, town and off road, etc) it is difficult to decide which is the better car. Yes, the FFRR is more luxurious, better MPG, faster but the D4 has better interior space, 7 seats and still comfortable on the motorway, if noisier.
They are both great cars but IMHO I'd go for a D4 simply because of it's practicality.

I recently changed from a FF to a D4, in short:
- more room for two choc labs (D4)
- smoother / quicker drive (FF)
- pinging between UK and Alicante with lots of stuff (D4 more practical)
- lot more wind noise when motoring (D4)
- nicer driving position (FF)
- better cosmetic look (D4)
All my opinion of course and taste is a personal thing,

Thanks!
How have you found fuel consumption has compared (SDV8 FF Vs SDV6 D4)? 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8

That's a relief! It's about what I was finding on the test drive and with the D4 returning a genuine average of 25.75 mpg, another 3-5 mpg is going to make a useful difference at 30-35,000 miles pa! 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: FL2 as a second car
