Yeah F**k them, I'd say...

But then, you know the saying that used to be true in France ? Why are Renault so cheap ? Because in fact you buy them twice : once by paying the asked price and two through your taxes ! (That was true when Renault was state-owned...) Crying or Very sad Confused

They're even sending out emails with this link -

" Espace is a smash hit
What do you get if you drive an Espace head-on into a Land Rover Discovery? Not just carnage. The crash test dummies in both vehicles enabled Fifth Gear to find out precisely which is the safest. The result surprised a lot of people (but not us at Renault!). The dummies in the Espace came off far better than those in the Land Rover. In fact, had they been real people, they would have been able to walk away. Channel 5 said it “…reveals that 4x4s aren’t necessarily the safest place to put your family on the school run. Size isn’t everything.”

Sent them the following comment -

Please can you tell me if you are planning to repeat the Espace/Discovery crash test with current versions? I feel this would be a far more revealing and meaningful test. Thank you.

Can't believe that Renault didn't sponsor this in some way. Come on Land Rover, lets have rematch!

Couldn't find the link to send the comment!

Alternatively ask them to crash the Old Discovery into an Old Espace - ho ho ho - me thinks there would be bits of french plastic MPV body all over the place!!!

Got this reply -

Our Ref: 1-94561836

Thank you for your recent response to the Renault e-newsletter.

I can confirm that Renault UK was not involved in the set up of these test and we have no plans to carry out any further televised crash tests.

Safety is Renault’s number one priority when it comes to manufacturing our vehicles. This shows with eight of our vehicles achieving 5 stars in the Euro NCAP tests. The Renault Laguna was the first car ever to be awarded five stars in the tests, now joined by the Mégane, Vel Satis, Espace and Scénic.

Thank you again for contacting Renault on-line. . If there is anything else I can help you with, please give me a call on our freephone number 0800 072 33 72.

Regards
