Fifth Gear green laning

Hi All

Been a member here for a year but not a big poster!

Does anyone have details of the route Fifth Gear took when they went from West to East across England? I thought it might make a decent week's holiday!

Thanks

Tim

Believe me you do NOT want to do the route that Fifth Gear took Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

I can say that with a lot of confidence, as we landed up basically shepherding them from coast to coast.

They originally wanted to film the route in 1 day in a Santa Fe. We got them up to 2 days and a Lada. They did a small fraction of the decent route. It took us two days of 7-8 hours driving per day to do a decent route from St bees to Whitby

Now if you want a good route have a few words with Barbara and she might send you the route. If you are coming to YOG at the end of the month then Barbara will have the real route on her iPad

Interesting, I watched it again recently and could have sworn they said they did it in the day ? Confused

That was a little sneaky then !

Just did a quick bit of research and it is definately a Lada Niva, St Bees to Whitby and it did take 2 days, here if you fancy killing 5mins .................

They only did a small fraction of the number of green lanes that were possible due to the amount of time they spent setting up shots.

We were due to leave St Bees at 9am, left at 12 noon by the time they had taken initial shots.

It is a good green laning trip, but needs a minimum of 2 days if you want to drive and experience the green lanes properly.

Do the green lanes from St Bees to Whitby and it is Thumbs Up

Take a filming crew with you and you have to hit a lot more tarmac to do it in 2 days

England

Have a route that intended to do later this year!

Done most of it but not in one go, but plans for a weekender with camping.

T.8ATH The video above we met up with the group nr Reeth / Hawes, the D3 did not do all the lanes due to width restrictions, the others all did it in Defners you will see us 2min 50secs into video.

I have the D3 route Whistle
