Fight with Dealer regarding Cruise Control, Help!!
So I bought the Cruise Control switch set for my D4 to get the Cruise Control to work, and when I sent in the car to do the service I requested that they install the switch set and activate the Cruise Control.
So the missus picked up the car and forgot to check if everything is working, needless to say cruise control is dead.
When I asked them what happened they came up with excuses of first saying this was not possible, then they said that I might have a problem with the steering ring, and now they saying that the switches I have are not for the vehicle.
Since this is not common practice in South Africa to do, I have a feeling that the mechanic does not know what to do and is giving management and myself the run around!!
After a call this morning from them, they insist that I need more parts, but have not said which.
I have asked them to send a list of parts and numbers to activate to cruise control, lets see what they come up with, F#*ing furious with these imbeciles!!
Problem is, I live 200Kms away in Mozambique and to go see them is a trip on its own!!
Any chance of getting a written confirmation from an oficial LR mechanic on this forum that can confirm that cruise control can be retrofitted by just installing the switches and enabling the computer??

Dealers in the UK will take the same stance that their systems cannot edit the ccf file to add features like this. You probably need to find an independent or similar who has an IID pro or other tool capable of editing the CCF.

Easy to do with IID or similar , dealers cannot do them, I did one for a member the other week when a dealer had failed, saying switches were no good Altox GSM FBH controller thread

Yes I thought as much, I had seen previous posts, hence me confirming and buying the switches.

All the more reason to buy an Iid tool, with all the other things you can do with it and living where you do you will not regret it Sell the spare wheel if necessary you will certainly use it more than a spare wheel:lol:It can when others can't,
