My First Disco - I Have A Few Questions Please...
After much deliberation and searching I have just bought my first LandRover, it was a Private Sale, Disco 3 HSE 06 with 27K on the clock, a very nice car!
My first question, can anyone recommend where I should go for servicing/repairs (I live in Bolton),
What MPG should I be getting? This car is fitted with a 'Tunit' box and the previous owner said it does 25mpg, however he was fibbing because over 2 weeks I have got just 21mpg.
After just 2 weeks and 300 miles, the car has started warning that the 'drivers door is open' when it isn't! Has anyone any ideas or what I should do? I hope it's something simple/cheap, I've just paid a lot of money for this otherwise 'as-new' awesome vehicle!
Thanks in advance.

BLIMEY OVER 63K My D3 probably averager 30 mpg even with General Grabber at2s on for 40K of those. Sounds like it needs looking at as i thrashed mine for 3.5 years and never got less than 27mpg.
You need to get TFC (10forcash) to do your servicing, he will come to your home or workplace and what he doesn't know aint worth knowing.
MPG does seem a touch low unless you've got a very heavy foot or a very heavy trailer!
Good to see another NW Member, you will have to get involved in the offroad days etc!

Lots of threads on economy but very dependent on how you drive. Don't expect 30 mpg in my experience just be pleasantly surprised when you achieve it and that requires flat roads, motorway, 60 mph and light winds as evidenced by my recent trip matching those criteria. (over 154 miles)

Thanks for so many replies already!
I didn't expect so many replies so quickly!
I have spoken to Tunit and they offered to check out the Tunit box.
I can't see a door close switch anywhere, is it a hidden sensor somewhere inside the door?
Thanks

Auto or manual?
Motorway or rush hour and/or short journeys?
Big differences in mpg for the above criteria.
29mpg motorways and 22mpg short journeys.D3 incl. genuine glass windscreen, front bi-focal headlights, full width rear bumper, self levelling washer bottle contents and audible 'tick tock' indicator stalk

I have a strong suspicion that a lot of the +30mpg guys are resetting the counter at the top of a hill and then free wheeling down it!
Seriously though I sometimes go on longish drives down the motorway and can easily return 30mpg (according to the computer) without too much effort. However on my 7 mile drive into work through traffic I really struggle to get anywhere near 24mpg (according to the computer).
Also, I find that the computer reading is about 2-3mpg more than the true measurement. So in reality I return an average of 22mpg.
FWIW I have a '56 reg TDV6 HSE

I have seen the computer tell me 17 mpg on local trips with a big hill. The 32mpg was a genuine recorded figure over 154 miles. Not really bothered, I suspect a good working average is about 22-24
You guys have it good! When I had mine it would only do 12 mpg on a good day in central London. You could watch the fuel needle drop. Visit my car detailing blog at http://maksimumdetail.wordpress.com
