First service

So my Disco goes in for it's first service (with me) today. While I'm looking forward to knowing a bit more about the condition of the car, I have to say that I'm a little nervous too and hoping this thread doesn't turn into a horror story!

Fingers are VERY firmly crossed today! Confused
I aint broke but brother I'm badly bent...

So you've read about the ramifications of not fitting the oil filter correctly then ... No pressure! Thumbs Up

You'll be fine Thumbs Up

I seat the paper filter, then the cap and screw it up 2x turns noting every sound and vibration thru my fingertips. Then gently unwind and check if the paper filter is still seated correctly. Repeat 13 more times. On the 15th time I make sure sure I hear and feel all the sounds and vibrations that occurred the previous 14 times, close my eyes and tighten-up.

Next I worry about it not being fitted correctly for 8k miles. Thumbs Up

So she needs a new rear prop shaft as the rubber bearing support had split on the old one. Other than that, it's a clean bill of health.

Can't help but feel that I've got off lightly...Phew! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
