I entered into another TYRO yesterday. Completely different site, all but two sections set in an undulating field, the other 2 were in the woods and were very tight to some trees, which was a bit stressful.

But it resulted in a very enjoyable day, learnt a fair amount about the car but also the tactics to be deployed to improve the score i.e. realise that you will not get through gate 2, so don't try and squeeze through and clip the gate and score a 2, when I could have got a wheel hub through and stopped and got a 1.

Competing against 4 others, 2 of which were under 17, couple of '90s and Disco 1. I came 2nd (one of the under 17 lads won) which I was pleased about, but frankly it wasn't about the score, just enjoying it. I will definitely have to pick the venue when I go again, the tree section was horrible for me, way too many hard things to potentially hit. Gladly I didn't Very Happy But I am told there are few other venues similar to this one, so I will be doing it again.
