Had another look at mine on the project D3 and although I followed your pictures I couldn't get mine close to working. Do you have any more photos you could add just so I can double check I've got everything in the right place?

Hello thanks, yes had power fold already, but for those wanting to add powerfold all you need is the switch and the powerfold relay (normally brown) as well the the door mirrors themselves. The door harnesses already have the powerfold circuit. The relay fits behind the glovebox to the left hidden in the edge of the door pillar. Socket is also brown.

Mine is the base model and don't remember it having the loom for the powerfold in the doors but its easy enough to retro fit them I did a bit of wiring to mine may be interested in your old mirror if you still have them.

Sorry my missus has a base model and I fitted them to hers, hence how I'm familiar with what's needed and what was there.
Base models don't have the second mirror plug which you see in my photo. This plug is for memory mirror function and has 4 wires to it. The fold function wires are on the main plug

hi there,
Would you be able to offer some further help on this topic? I have spent a few hours this morning on our project D3 and can not for the life of me get the wing mirrors to operate at all as mentioned in your thread. I have taken a few photos of the wiring i have at the moment (it looks abit messy but I thought id get it working then put the plugs back on)
The first photo is the Discovery 3s wing mirror plug from the main loom. This is the one that the original mirrors were connected into.
The second image shows the wires removed from both the original plug shown in image one and the wires from the new Discovery 4 wing mirror. I have connect them up as you describe and have added the additional red wire but still nothing. If I put power to the wires individually they work but not in the order that you mentioned. Have I missed something silly? (note that the indicator wires (green and a black) are fitted to a resistor as they are now LED these work fine but I do now have a spare black wire that you will see in the 2nd photo near the yellow wires)
Many thanks

Hello.
Just for clarity
The door harness wires go to
Black pink to red white
Grey white to light green
Black blue to the new red wire you added. This must be routed to the door mirror motor 3 pin plug. Original blue removed.
Brown purple to black grey
Black to black blue
Yellow blue to blue
Yellow red to pink
Purple White not used
Black White not used
Add green white or green red indicator wire here for green wire.
As stated in my comments you don't need the indicators black wire as the earth is shared on the new mirrors black blue wire.
What functions are you not getting? No need for a resistor for these led lamps on the mirrors, they work fine.
Check you have a powerfold relay and a powerfold switch.
Also check fuse 33p in case you've blown this and also fuse 16p
In fuse box behind the glove box lower.
If mirror adjust is incorrect the swap the 2 outers around on the mirror motor 3 pin plug

This is the difference in mirror switches, stalk needs to be at centre position. Then press down to fold or unfold.
Behind the glove box lower hidden on the left is where the powerfold relay is fitted.

Hi there,
I've just been out and had an hour re-checking everything and have now got all the wires as you have listed. I've also checked all the fuses and they all are ok (did blow one in the engine fuse box but have now replaced this). I have no life from the mirrors what so ever and really don't know what else to try. Can upload more pictures if that helps?[/i]
