Fitting late discovery 4 facelift door mirrors on disco 3

Hi and happy new year everyone.
I wish to fit facelift d4 door mirrors on my d3. Has anyone done this. I'm guessing the wiring plugs will be different and I will need to extend the indicator side repeater harness up to the mirror plug wiring.
I'm wanting to add powerfold versions too
Thanks in advance

You can get wing mirror covers with the indicator/welcome lights built in that are plug and play. They do not have the fold function.

Nice enough idea but I have the facelift mirrors already. I'll no doubt get some wiring diagrams and report on my progress.

Fitted today and fully working. I have powerfold and the led indicators working too. Wasn't at all bad to do. I unpicked the terminals from the facelift d4 black plug and unpicked the terminals from the grey disco 3 plug and swapped the grey plug over allowing a factory fit plug and play. I'll add photos when I get a chance.
Simply took the indicator repeater positive wire and cut the plug and added a terminal so it's also in the grey plug now.

How many wires do the power fold mirrors have? I'm sure someone asked this a while back?

I used a second hand one for drivers side off a landmark edition. This had 11 wires on the plug. I never used 4 of these as I think they were memory inputs which I'll think about another time.
I bought a new passenger side unit LR051366 this has powerfold but not memory. This one had 7 wires.
I used all 7 but removed the blue wires splice into 2 function and in its place added an extra wire from grey plug pin 3 to the glass adjustment motor replacing it's blue wire

Red white
L green
Blue these are glass motor wires. Blue is spliced internally and also supplies power fold out signal

Pink is power fold in

Black grey is heated glass positive
Black blue is heated glass negative but also led repeater negative

Normal green is led repeater positive signal

Forgot to say the terminals are identical on old and new connectors. I removed the red lock tab from both types and used a scalpel to click the locator tab away and withdraw each terminal from rear.

Ok so after sorting a teething issue today I can conclude that all is finally well.
On the new mirror unit there is 1 blue wire that is spliced internally into two locations (use pin terminal 6 for correct blue wire location on the grey plug). One to the mirror fold out motor and the other to the mirror glass adjustment motor.
The problem is that when power folding out the mirrors they position the mirror glasses fully upwards by piggy backing the signal feed, meaning mirror adjustment is required every time.
This needs to be rectified for use on Disco 3 by removing one of the splices functions. I removed the whole unit from the door in order to remove the large triangular gaiter seal, then I removed the plastic bottom cover. This allowed me to strip the harness wrap in order to add in 1 new wire robbed from my old mirrors harness. In my case I used a red wire. You could use the blue if preferred. (My old blue wire was damaged) I then routed this from the grey plug pin 3 to the mirror glass motor 3 pin plug and replaced the blue wire. I cut away the now redundant blue wire from the splice making the original blue wire a single function feed to only the powerfold motor.
If you look at the disco 3 grey plug from the wire end you will, if you have good eyesight see that its numbered 1 to 10. I took a photo with my phone and zoomed in. Top left is 1, top right is 5, bottom left is 6 and bottom right is 10.
Pin 1 red white mirror glass left right
Pin 2 light green signal power from mirror adjuster stalk switch
Pin 3 add the extra new wire here to replace blue wire at mirror glass motor 3 pin plug. This is mirror glass up down. You must add a new wire from your old mirror harness for this as it will have the correct terminals at either end. You've already used the grey plug anyway.
Pin 4 black grey mirror heat positive
Pin 5 black blue mirror heat negative and indicator negative
Pin 6 blue powerfold out
Pin 7 pink powerfold in
Pin 8 not used. There's a wire on door harness but it is not needed for mirror. It might be for a puddle lamp that I don't have
Pin 9 not used.... See above.
Pin 10 I added my indicator positive signal wire here and added a pin to door harness plug connector to the original side repeater wire. The repeater earth wire isn't required.

Photos to help guide you with work required

New harness wiring terminals removed from their black plug.

Grey plug terminal numbers, this is old wiring from d3 waiting to be removed.

Grey plug with red lock tab removed, this allows the terminals to be removed and refitted.

Triangular gaiter and plastic bottom cover removed for harness access.

All wires inserted into the grey plug, notice the red wire added at terminal 3.

Mirror glass motor 3 pin plug, red wire added in place of the blue. The blue wire to be traced back to the spliced joint and cut off.

Mirror glass adjustment motor plug refitted.

Grey plug finished and reconnected. Notice the indicator repeater green wire in background bottom left of picture, I added a short wire and pin terminal to the female grey plug and joined with a solder connector.

I tried to add a picture of the mirrors on car but it won't load and it's dark outside. I'll add one later.
The old side repeaters will be removed once a pair of landmark blank badges arrive.
