Hi there ladies and gentlemen
First post (second post to follow about engine noise) from a proud new July 06 build D3 owner, truly great site by the way.
Do I have a problem or design error
I have the Nokia cradle and factory PTI. With no audio on when I select the phone the radio comes on, I don’t want the radio on but appear to have no option. Turn the radio off, select the phone and by magic the radio comes on, turn the radio down, make the call, turn up volume to hear the caller, end call, radio comes on at same volume level selected during call. I don’t want the flippin radio on.
So operator error (most likely) or design shortcoming?
Chris

Yes, mine does the same.
It's one of those LR quirks. Matt

Yup. Radio needs to be on to provide volume for the handfree. Also all features (address book and call register) run through the head unit.
Dr Lex has the right idea although this can give a bit of static?

The dealer fit kit works fine without the radio on
doesn't have all the other fancy gubbins though! The End

Works a treat, I just leave it on CD with no CDs in (iPod made them obsolete!!). Just have fun with bluetooth when you open up the car when you are on the phone or lock it, walk away & dial someone straight away!
