I know is silly, but it is irritating and dangerous enough that I had to seek assistance
Our car (2008 MY) came with floor mats that had two holes for the carpet pin while the car had only one pin in the center of the carpet. I spoke to the service rep, he is absolutely useless! Can I insert those carpet pins in the right locations on my own, what is the part number for the pin I need to order if that is the case, and how do I insert them?
The safety issue is that the carpets, expecially the driver's side one rides up which impedes pressing the gas pedal and brake.
Thanks.

Hello
I do not know what a part number would be, I have seen them for sale on the likes of Ebay. Yes you could fit them as they just screw into the carpet, I replaced a couple which were missing on our D3 when we got the car.
Hope this is of some help.

Sounds like you have the pre 08 mats. The 08> mats only had one hole in the middle to secure into the inbuilt lug already in the carpet.

I agree, you have the early mat set, you need the later set with onle one hole in.
I would not be putting pins in the carpet for the sake of getting the correct set of mats for the car.

If you bought the car new from them, then i would take them back and tell them they have supplied the wrong mats for the year of vehicle. As mentioned 2008 onwards only have one fixing point ATB

Hi Alan, Good idea, but the dealer here has a monopoly and asking for the "right carpets" two years after the purchase is probably a no option, I will try tomorrow though when I take her in for an alignment. I will also ask them about the squeeky brakes which they claim is included in the service agreement.
Different questions, but what is the expected life of the OEM front/rear discs and pads for a V8 HSE, I now have approx 44,000 KM on the Odometer.
Cheers.

So, what would be the best way to install two additional pins on either side of the existing center pin to hold the mats that I do have? Thanks.

When I purchased my MY06 SE in July the stipulation from SWMBO was to get a full set of mats.
The dealer supplied these about a week later via parcel post. Huge package got delivered.
The ones supplied are heavy duty and came with two holes at front (nearest seat) and fixing pins in the pack. TBH, I was reluctant to put holes in the carpet. In hindsight this was a good decision. the mats are so heavy they dont move in the slightest so have not need to screw things in.
You could try velcro ???
