Does anyone know of where to get hold of an ipod Aux lead that's fairly flat at one end? The kids have come very close to snapping off the end of mine at they clamber around in the back. What I had in mind was something robust and right-angled, if such a thing exists.

Blowpipe,
I know exactly where you are coming from. I had to buy a 90 degree adaptor as I couldn't find a lead with 90 degree connections. At least by using the adaptor if the kids kick the cable only the cable pops out rather than snapping offat the aux socket. It still needs the lead tucked away though to stop the little darlings doing it every time they get in the car.

It took some finding, but I got a 90 degree to 90 degree cable from RS Components. Can't see it now, but this one is 90 degree at one end:

It's not flush, but it is better. Andrew

Thanks Andrew. That might be a slightly better option as there's less to work loose. Now, if someone could come up with a ruffty-tuffty item that's fully child proof..

When I did mine originally, I attached the audio lead internally to the aux socket PCB, so there was nothing external for the smalls to kick in passing. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana
