Foxwell NT520 Pro to program an ignition key

Has anyone used a Foxwell NT520 Pro to program an ignition key on an Disco 3? Foxwell's spec sheet says that the NT520 is capable of programming my new key however, after reading through several Land Rover forums online, I have yet to find anyone who had successfully programmed their keys with a Foxwell Tool. The Foxwell tool is far less costly than the GAP IID tool which others have used for key programming.

A mate of mine managed it after we spent a bit of time pondering the menus. He's somewhere sandy without comms at the moment; will see if I can find the email exchange we had at the time.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

After doing further reading on the topic it looks like the Autel AP 200 is the best deal out there. Just ordered one from Amazon. Thanks very much for telling me about the device.

Good call on the Autel. Managed to get hold of my mate and turns out it didn't work properly in the end so that's a no for the Foxwell on keys.

Must admit Ref the autel , will pay for itself just by programming a key

Local JLR dealer now charge £180 per hour plus vat

Will be interesting to see the autel feedback and how easily it is to use

Sounds ideal to keep one in the landy

Autel

Hi, I got one of these AP200`s from Father Christmas !!, after some messing about downloading the software and pairing the device which was down to my lack of skill with a smart phone, it works very well.
I am only planning to look at fault codes and maybe re-set some glitches etc with mine at the moment but it does program keys which is great.
Like you say it`s cheap and something I am going to keep in the glove box as a useful tool.

Regards Dave

I have a Foxwell NT510 for a few years now and a long time ago I had to reprogram the keys as they stopped working, I also changed batteries at the same time just in case they were a problem. I followed the method/instructions on the NT510 and reprogramed both keys, so for me it worked.
