China 2011 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 HSE Auto Santorini BlackDiscovery 4
free chinese satnav upgrade

so.. about to go on a big road trip after wee sabbatical in the seychelles however, the satnav here is poo.
loads of roads missing way out of date.so rang dealer to see if a new version is available and yes if I have not already upgraded its freeeeeee....yeah for me. first upgrade free then 80 quid a shot after that.

so popped along to the dealer and no disc its a data transfer from usb flash so they said.

can zoom right out now "old one could not" and even has a large choice of voices on of which is called donald duck.. a chinese sounding version...very odd.
within the menu is the option for "safe driving"...this disables entry unless vehicle is stopped, did I choose that ?...not on your nelly

so here are some pics for those satnav nerds

this screen is quite useless unless you have the "ladybird book of satallite spotting" but it's very pretty it does however show your speed which used to be on the map page but now is not. and satallites flash..every one say oooh!

this screen shows trip info. and highlighs how bad the traffic is here, this is the trip (crawl) back from the dealers

and its own volume control
not ratioed to other sounds..(as per previous posting thought one more gloat was called for)

here is the main map screen it shows the location of known speed cameras (you can set a road overspeed warning) and warns of impending tickets 500m in advance and a warning triangle pops up on map.
the "14" is the zoom ref. number. the "quick" is not the route type (quick, short, motorway are avail as options)this just brings up a little menu rather than exiting the map.

the maps are done by a company called Rousen
It is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.
