Being slightly more serious now, I've drunk the water all over Europe and had no problems. The dog'll certainly not be upset by it, mine prefer to drink from muddy puddles and the pond at home so I doubt French tap water will harm them.

I do have to wonder if people are OK to be let out on their own. Whistle You guys are gonna be busier than a test bench in a plunger factory!
