& to clarify, I don't need to do the tracking after this right;

Could someone just summarize the safety tips for working on 2 ramps with the suspension set on high, apart from perfectly level ground and electronic handbrake on, do the keys have to stay in the ignition ?

Hey guys not sure if this helps but I've just had the ARB bushes replaced on my 2005 RRS (non Dynamic). Firstly, as already posted by Mikey767 and others removal of the plastic under tray gives good access to remove the Fuel Cooler unit. Second, by using an old style 'Swan Neck' (also known as 'offset' or 'drop end' 18mm spanner all four nuts are accessible with nothing else needed to be removed. I should add we had the luxury of a ramp, but the job took about half an hour in total. Not sure if the same applies to the Disco3. Result - No more knocking noise Smile

Ok did stage 1 the Drop Links, being the dump b Censored d I am, it took me a sec to work out that I also needed an 8mm for the tops, which of course hasn't made any difference at all, now for a deep breath

What, precisely, are the symptoms you are experiencing? When do you hear the knocking? When is it at its worst? Where does the knocking seem to come from? Is it worst when you dab the brakes? Have you had your lower front wishbones replaced?

There is seemingly no play in the steering column to me the noise seems to come from the front *although if it were a problem is the rear the play may translate in to the front too I guess...

I replaced my front ARB bushes using these instructions, thanks for putting them up.
That cooler bolt is a proper bast__d! Evil or Very Mad

I put in Superpro Urethane bushes - not happy with them next service OME rubber are going back in.
Too much movement between the bushes and the bar.

Cross member bolt torque?? & rubber mallot

Just replaced my front bushings today and it wasn't so bad. The passenger side was easy but the driver side was a little more time consuming. (crossmember removal and I didn't have a short 18mm socket) Just wanted to see if anyone had the torque info for the 3 cross member bolts. Also just to note, the easiest way to get the brackets over the rubber bushings is to use dish detergent & water in a spray bottle and also to use a rubber mallet to tap the brackets on after you've sprayed the bushings.
 Narpy's Grill Mod, Suspension Rods, Ultra guage, wrangler Goodyear duratracs 265/60/18, new thermostat, diff oils changed, brake switch new, aluminum rack floor, LED driving lights in foglights, rear camera, just need gvif unit, next on list! New front arb bushings, new front valve block, 191,000 miles.

I did mine tonight and also resorted to removing the diff bracket bolts and moving the bracket enough to get the socket on the top bolt. The Diff bracket bolts are pretty tight though, I needed a fair bit of strength on a 50mm breaker bar to loosen them. Same strength to tighten them back up. Excellent thread, thanks guys.
