LR3 coolant issue and thud. |
|
Hi all,
My names Craig, long time lurker and till now I've always been able to find info through the search.
I've had my 2009 LR3 for a couple of years and having been loving it till lately.
The car started losing a tiny bit of water and while everything else seemed OK we very shortly after checking it over had a head gasket failure. So I had the whole engine refreshed. So all new coolant pipes, bearings, rings and gaskets. Had the heads machined too. As I wanted peace of mind.
But now a couple of months later I'm getting oil in the water. Leak down test and compression tests are fine. I have no water in the oil. So I'm guessing it's possibly the oil cooler but just wanted any input to what else it may be. I'm also slowly losing water but no visible leaks. Going to have a pressure test done soon.
Possibly something unrelated but I dont know. I'm also getting a slight thud in 2nd gear which started just before the oil was noticed in the water. Maybe 100miles between both issues.
Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
